From the Director:

YMCAs have been teaching people to swim for more than a century and are the largest provider of pools in the United States. In the Garden City Family YMCA Aquatics program, children learn to be safe in and around water, get acclimated at a young age, and feel the sense of accomplishment that comes with learning something new! During swim lessons, kids develop lifelong skills that can help them stay healthy and fit for the rest of their lives. Swimming is a sport that can be enjoyed as an infant with a parent teaching their child to an active older adult who needs the water to alleviate their arthritis pain. All of  our programs incorporate fun, instill the YMCA core values, and help develop a life long skill they will cherish forever.
